Taking a fishing trip with Stacy Twiggs goes far beyond just catching fish. A day with Stacy includes laughter, singing, great conversation and the best bass fishing Florida has to offer. In addition to catching bass, you will learn a great deal about habitat, structure and the techniques needed to consistently catch Florida largemouth. Stacy’s enthusiasm and passion are contagious, take a trip and catch it!

“I’ve had the good fortune to know and fish with Stacy Twiggs for the last eight years. From Mexico to Toho, he knows what it takes to find fish. I can honestly say that he taught me to be a better angler. Reading the water and conditions, he’ll pull something out of the rod box that you would not have expected, and to your surprise, proceed to catch fish. The fact is, he humbled me on many occasions and taught me to think outside the box. But, a trip with Stacy is more than just fishing. He’s the most genuine and fun guy with whom you could ever spend a day on the water. You may or may not remember the fish you caught, but you’ll certainly remember the friend you’ll have for life.”
Chris Horton, Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, Bismark, Arkansas
I have been on many guided fishing trips and the ones with Stacy Twiggs rank at the top. Stacy has the latest equipment and knows how to use it. He knows about fishing all over Central Florida, and will put you on the best fish regardless of the time of year. Stacy works for his clients and has a great personality to make a day of fishing a blast. It doesn’t matter if you are a novice or beginner. Stacy will teach you techniques that will make you a better fisherman, both in Florida and when you go back home. That’s why we travel over 1,000 miles to fish with Stacy Twiggs!!!
- Michael Ferro, Martinsburg, WV
Stacy Twiggs is undoubtedly the most passionate and intellectual fisherman I have ever met. I have fished with Stacy in Florida and California. He knows trophy fish patterns and how to catch fish anywhere in any conditions. After several trips to Florida and reading year-after-year about how finicky the Florida strain bass can be, Stacy’s fishing pedigree exemplifies the difference between a professional guide and those who wish to someday be on his level. All of our trips were filled with bass and we caught countless numbers when others struggled to get a single bite. Stacy loves being on the water and teaching his trade, whether it be children, novice or the experienced angler. He takes the time to “break it down,” on any level and explain why and what the fish are doing.
- Andrew Sayles, Sacramento, California
I had the pleasure of being guided by Stacy Twiggs this past April. In my travels around the U.S. I have hired many guides to find that “trophy” largemouth. I did not catch my trophy bass but in Stacy I found my trophy guide. Stacy is so enthusiastic, patient and fun. I have been a teacher for 29 years; his passion for guiding and teaching people to fish is evident in his personality in all aspects. He is so knowledgeable, but makes you feel like the “Pro”. His ability to guide all levels of fisherman/woman is unmatched. If you are an oldie like myself, thinking I “knew” so much or have young kids just starting out, you need to fish with Stacy. He made our 2 days the best part of our vacation. When he didn’t get us into the huge bass he kept us out, free of charge, until we did. If you are looking for a guide in Florida, look no further Stacy is your man.
- Teri Kelley, Salt Lake City, UT
Having lived in Florida most of my life I have been on many charters, however fishing with Stacy has always been a unique experience. He not only finds the fish, he shows you different ways to catch them. I have been with guides all over the state of Florida and have learned more from Stacy than all the rest put together. Each trip with Stacy is different, because we have fished several different lakes in different ways. I prefer artificial baits and he has taught me numerous different techniques with the same bait. Having the pleasure of getting to know Stacy Twiggs over the years, I highly recommend him. He is both, a teacher and as great person. It has been my pleasure to consider him a friend and to fish with him.
- Ralph White, West Palm Beach, Florida
As an avid fisherman myself, I find that truly good fishing guides are hard to find. Someone with the tools and talent not to simply “demonstrate” how they can catch fish, but those who are genuinely interested in passing their knowledge and techniques on to other fishermen (and those who want to be). What I found in Stacy Twiggs is truly one of a kind. His desire to see the excitement in someone’s face when they connect with a bass, his ability to transfer his knowledge to others coupled with his natural charm and warm heart make Stacy the “Guide of Choice” for all who wish to book a trip. Stacy is professional, he is a cerebral thinker, and he is outgoing and truly cares about everyone he meets (which is a rare quality these days). Stacy’s commitment to the fishing industry is well documented over the past two decades. As the former President of the Texas Federation of B.A.S.S., Stacy lead the entity to new heights and focused on bringing the younger generation into the sport and has continued that tradition with 10 years at the world’s largest fishing organization, B.A.S.S.® as the Senior Manager of Bassmaster® Youth Programs. Stacy has been responsible for introducing countless youngsters and families to the sport of bass fishing. Likewise, Stacy has a passion for our military hero’s, who put their lives on the line every day so we can have the freedoms we all enjoy here in the United States. By taking wounded and paralyzed soldiers fishing and showing them a side of life they might not otherwise not ever experience, Stacy brings joy to those who do so much for us. Both on and off the water, Stacy gives 110% to everything he does, including family and friends. Bar none, you could not find a better fishing guide than Stacy Twiggs.
- Jim “The Hammer” Holcomb, Ft. Worth, Texas
We just wanted to say thanks for a great day on the water. Steve and I enjoyed your insight/education on flipping and the Florida wildlife. We learned a lot about fishing for largemouth bass in Florida and you showed us the science behind the art. You took some great pictures for us to show all our family and friends. Hope to get back out with you soon!
- Steve and Laura Shantz, Hedgesville, WV
Please allow me to take a personal approach to this testimonial as I’d like to start this with how we met. This friendship began with my new job as the Florida B.A.S.S. Youth Director. Stacy was our host at a National Youth Leadership Conference where I met him for the very first time. My first of many and over the last 10 years we always talked about going fishing. Unfortunately, life sped by and between Stacy’s schedule and our family lives, including the illness and passing of my beloved husband Bill, fishing simply had to wait. So, on an early May morning, along with Charlie’s Girl, my Jack Russell, we set out for what turned into the perfect day of fishing. We set out to an area I had not been to in years, but ironically, it was a memorable area that I had fished in the past with my late husband, Bill. We caught 51 bass in the first area. The wind decided to get up on the infamous Big Okeechobee waters so we headed back across the lake fighting swarms of “Love Bugs” and it looked like someone dumped buckets of pepper on the water. Our next stop was at the mouth of the Kissimmee River where we boated 24 more bass. Charlie’s Girl had to lick every last one and she knew when we were setting the hook! Again, the wind forced a move, so up the river we went. Well, 50 more bass found their way in the boat to meet Charlie’s Girl. What an awesome day we had with an unbelievable 125 infamous Okeechobee bass in the boat. May 10th will be a day in my memory book. Sharing it with a great friend, my dog and countless memories on the water, which I will keep in my heart always. Stacy thank you for who you are and for a great day of fishing! With Love and much respect.
- Charlie and Charlie’s Girl, Lake Okeechobee City, Florida
In mid April of this year my fishing partner, Teri Kelley, and I had a once in a life time opportunity to explore the great fishing of Central Florida. We had been planning this trip for quite a few years, so when we landed in Orlando you can imagine the excitement. We scheduled two full days with Stacy and couldn’t wait to get up the next morning and hit the water. Stacy communicated with us before, during and after our travels from Utah. We were truly grateful. We have been in California, Nevada and here in Utah with many guides, none as patient, kind and knowledgeable as Stacy Twiggs. There are many guides we could have chosen, but we went out with Stacy, and we are so glad we did! He allowed us to fish our own style (I like reaction-style) and taught us techniques to succeed. Stacy is an awesome teacher and presented opportunities to catch the trophy at every turn. I consider myself a novice in bass fishing but felt enriched by his patience and knowledge. I learned quite a bit about fishing and life challenges. I feel we both have enriched our lives with Stacy, as a lifelong friend, and the only guide we will ever go out with again. We both had a blast! Thanks Stacy for the great days on the water and the trip of a lifetime!
- Jody Mitchell, Salt Lake City, Utah
I have been working and corresponding with Stacy Twiggs since 2002 at which time I served the South African Bass Angling Association in the office of National Junior President. Stacy was the Youth Director of B.A.S.S. of America. Our relationship endured through the years when I served as General Secretary of the Association. Through Stacy’s professionalism and dedication to youth (both in America and worldwide), we have been able, to date, afford twelve young South Africans the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to the USA and compete in the Bassmaster Youth Structures and extend their experiences beyond their immediate horizons. In one case, a young South African Junior won the Junior Bassmaster World Championship, which Stacy founded for B.A.S.S.
As the years passed, despite the separation of distance, Stacy (and my family, and several close friends) struck up a relationship which reached way past the direct responsibilities of our respective offices. Each and every time that I (we) travelled to the USA, we found Stacy as dedicated as ever to his services to youth as well as the angling community and we always felt genuinely welcome as friends.
- Stephen Engelbrecht, President, World of Fishing, Johannesburg, South Africa
My daughter and I were fortunate enough to have gotten to fish in Central Florida with Mr. Stacy Twiggs. Being the first time we have had the opportunity to fish freshwater in Florida, I wanted to make sure that we had a great guide to take us out for “A Day on the Water.”
Prior to our arrival, Central Florida was hit with a cold front and needless to say it moved the fish back a little from their pre-spawn pattern. After a short time of trying to catch shallow fish that had obviously backed off Stacy made an adjustment and we ended up catching several fish using plastics and crank baits on and around a hump in the main lake. I caught a couple of real nice bass and had a couple come off. My daughter also caught several bass in the same area. After a great lunch we fished a second lake until dark and managed to catch a few more bass and saw a magnificent sunset. This was an experience that we will both never forget. Stacy saw to it that we had a great fishing experience and went out of his way to work with my daughter and help her catch several bass from the back of the boat. I would highly recommend Stacy as a guide in Lake Toho and the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes if someone wants to have a great fishing experience and spend the day with a true ambassador of the sport.
- Jim Zieger, President, Missouri B.A.S.S. Federation Nation
I’ve known Stacy for over a dozen years. His passion for the outdoors is only matched by his focus on customer service. I have fished with him as well as worked alongside him and no one combines his level of fishing skills with a great personality and a strong desire to make his customers day on the water one they will remember. Stacy is the only one I will call on when I am in Florida looking for a day on the water!
- Al Smith, Jay Maine
I have known Stacy Twiggs since first meeting him at the 2005 Junior Bassmaster World Championships in Pittsburgh, PA. Our relationship grew quickly when I was fortunate enough to win the Championships event.
Since that time Stacy and I have been fishing friends and close associates. Stacy has witnessed the growth of my career over the last 7 years and has been an extremely positive influence on me as I have aspired to progress and enter the ranks of professional fishing through BASS and the PAA. He has been and important mentor to me as a young man.
Stacy has always been there for me and his consistent friendship and support has helped me be the best that I can be. I know how busy Stacy has been in his career, but he still always finds the time to talk to ‘us kids’ and has been a constant source of encouragement while maintaining the highest of professional standards. In 2008, after winning the Western Federation Nation Junior Divisional tournament in Idaho hosted Stacy at one of our local bass club events. As much as Stacy is a true professional he is also a true ‘regular guy’ and is one of the most fun loving carefree guys that I have ever spent time with on the water. Our club members still talk about his visit and what a great guy he is. He makes an immediately positive impression on everyone he meets.
Stacy’s professionalism and fishing knowledge coupled with his people skills and fun loving approach to life make him the ideal guide and companion for a day on the lake that would be enjoyed by adults and kids of all ages. I always look forward to seeing Stacy and will continue to value my friendship and fellowship with him on and off the water.
Sincerely,
- Joey Nania – Professional Bass Angler, Liberty Lake, Washington
2-Time Junior Bassmaster World Champion (’05 & ’08)
5-Time Washington State Junior Champion
2010 Washington Federation Nation Champion
BASS Open Series and Professional Anglers Association Series Pro
I have known Stacy Twiggs since 2005. During that time my association with Stacy has covered just about every possible type of relationship including:
Participant: In Stacy’s Program as a father of a Junior Bassmaster World Championship contender and Champion.
Co-worker: As the BASS Washington State Youth Director working under Stacy’s guidance in his capacity as the BASS National Program Director for Youth.
Genuine Friend: I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to get to know Stacy on a personal basis through fishing and fellowship.
There are many positive words that I could use to describe Stacy but they all add up to fall under the umbrella of a word that I value most – INTEGRITY! Stacy is without a doubt the most consistent, hard working and conscientious professional that I have had the good fortune to meet and ultimately work with in the fishing industry. He applies his foundational values and tremendous people skills consistently in everything he does and with everyone he comes into contact with. One of Stacy’s finest attributes is ‘patience’. I am not sure how he does it but in every case, even with the seemingly smallest of issues Stacy treats every issue and every person as someone or something of significance and in that makes everyone feel and believe that they are truly important. In all of my years of knowing Stacy and from the words shared with me by others he can and should be classified as a rare breed and true ‘Original Gentleman’ in every way. I am truly proud to call him my friend and associate.

As a youngster growing up in the Orlando area I was afforded the opportunity to fish some of the best trophy bass waters the world has to offer. As kids we would gather on our stingray bikes with rods in tow. It wasn’t long after when my father drove up in the driveway with our family’s first boat. OH YEAH! We ventured often to world famous Lake Toho and thus access to the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes where my father, brother and I would not only reel in the bass, but also memories that will last a life time. The first time I met Stacy Twiggs, all of these memories flooding back. His enthusiasm for the sport is contagious. Fishing with Stacy the first time brought back the excitement I felt as a youngster fishing with my father. Stacy is without question, the quintessential professional. His patience is that of the Great Blue Heron. He not only will put you on the fish but will help you in every aspect to make your trip as memorable as any you’ve had on the water. I look forward to the times I can wet a line if even for a few minutes here and there but when I have the chance to fish with Stacy, there is no compare. If you don’t have the time of your fishing life with Stacy Twiggs, you just don’t know how to have fun.
- Randall McCall, Secretary/Treasurer, Conway Groves, Inc., Orlando, Florida
Gang let me tell you a story about a guy named Stacy Twiggs. I live in Connecticut, but found myself in Florida for a recent conference. Naturally, if I’m in Florida, I’m going fishing and Lake Toho is a place I’ve always wanted to go fishing for that “Trophy Bass” of a lifetime! So I meet Stacy Twiggs, a good ole boy, who I learn was in the Navy during Desert Storm. So, me being a Marine during the same time, we hit it off like brothers. There was something about this guy that made you feel like family! Keith Alan, former Bassmaster host, introduced us and he joined us for a remarkable day on the water. So, I get picked up at 0530hrs. and away we go to famous Lake TOHO! Keith and I meet up with Stacy at the ramp and he was excited to go fishing as I was. I have never seen a guide that excited to go fishing. Here is the big hint, Stacy makes you feel like family – it’s fun, not just a job. Off we go and let me tell you, it was special! An amazing morning of fishing, 15-20 fish, all 2-4lbs. accompanied with laughing, singing and general all around great time! Around early noon we stop to have lunch and oh yeah, I forgot to mention around 0900hrs (after the early bite) we stop for a breakfast sandwich. So what I’m saying is in just a few hours of fishing, we boated that many quality fish. Stacy knows what he is doing! Then he tells me that the fishing is SLOW! Are you kiddin’ me? So, after a quick lunch we go to a little urban lake in downtown Orlando. Gin clear water with salad several feet under the surface and we immediately start in catching fish – this was great! Stacy even taught this old Marine a trick or two on how to flip and pitch the salad. He has a reputation as a flipping specialist in Florida’s matted vegetation and it’s easy to see why. Next thing I know – BANG a 5.5lb. fish on the end on my line – OUTSTANDING!! What a great experience with more than 40 fish! The friendship and camaraderie we now have will last a lifetime. Stacy is in a class by himself and above the rest. His passion and enthusiasm for fishing go far beyond what you will find anywhere else. He also knows how to pass those qualities on to you. I have never had such a great time and caught so many fish. So if you are looking for a place to go to catch a Trophy Bass or experience the fishing trip of a lifetime, there is only one man you need to seek out. He is my friend and brother by another mother Stacy Twiggs. Give him a call and go fish with him. He will do everything he can to help you catch that “Trophy Bass” and as he would say, “Eat your cricket.”

Stacy Twiggs has dedicated a huge part of his career to helping get kids involved in fishing. A Gulf War Veteran and a guy you would want as a neighbor, Stacy is respected in the industry for his integrity, his professionalism and his unwavering passion for the sport. As a bass fishing guide, Stacy is intimately familiar with Florida’s best bass lakes. He excels at teaching the techniques that catch big bass in Florida, and he is as professional and patient as they come. Lake Toho Bass Fishing Guides may be a dime a dozen. Stacy Twiggs is one in a million.
- Keith Alan, Founder, Ultimate Fishing Experience, Miami, Florida
Fishing has been and will always be about the experience. Granted catching fish is our goal but a day on the water and all that goes with it is what keeps us coming back.
I took my 10-year old son out with Captain Twiggs and had a day that will be long remembered. Captain Twiggs spent a great deal of our trip mentoring my son and coaching him through the fishing. His patience and ability to communicate with my son developed instant trust. He quickly became a teacher and a friend to us on the water. He spends time explaining the how and why things are catching fish. We were able to take in and truly appreciate all the beauty around us as we spotted Gators and turtles in the water and the great bald eagle that soared above us.
Though we caught over 20 fish on our charter, it was the heart and soul of our guide that brought us the greatest joy.I have fished all over the planet for many species and find it ironic that the finest guide I know is right in my backyard. Do not ever think Captain Twiggs does not want to catch fish, but he gets the bigger picture and let us be the fishermen. He provided the true Fishing Experience that will keep us coming back …
- Jason Wald - Dad & Fisherman
I have known Stacy Twiggs for many years and without reservation recommend him as a guide — if you want to catch fish and have fun doing it. I have fished with him multiple times on Lake Toho and remain stupefied at his ability to find largemouth in its labyrinth of grass flats. And beyond his fish finding abilities, Stacy’s integrity is second to none. No worries about shady dealings! You will not have a bad day on the lake with this guy, even if the fish aren’t biting!
- James Hall, Editor, Bassmaster Magazine
Fishing for Florida largemouth has always been a challenge until I started fishing with Stacy Twiggs. He not only shared his bass fishing expertise, he also provided guidelines to ensure I could repeat my success on other lakes. He’s passionate, encouraging, and has made all my experiences memorable. He even helped me migrate from a spinning reel to a baitcaster within minutes. He made me feel like a professional angler which was an awe-inspiring experience. I have pictures to prove it. From that first experience to the many that have followed, I look forward to spending days on the water with Stacy and catching more bass. I would encourage everybody from beginners to experts to spend the day with Stacy and enjoy the professional bass fishing experience that he has to offer. Five stars!

Stacy Twiggs…when you look up the word FRIEND in the dictionary you find, “a person who one knows, likes and trusts,” you also find, “A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause: a comrade.” Look up the word GUIDE: “One who serves as model for others, as in a course of conduct.
Now when you combine those two words, Friend/Guide – you get Stacy Twiggs…aka to us as TWIGGS.
These attributes are the words that Stacy lives by in his personal life and also his fishing life. I have lived by and known Stacy for over 7 years and found him to be the guy to turn to when help is needed. He is always there to help others and that is why he is such an asset to the fishing world.
His ability to teach and instruct others in the art of fishing is one of a kind. He has the patience and the personality to make it easy for you as a beginner or an old pro in the sport of fishing. You always feel right at home with Stacy no matter what the project is.
The unique technique to be able to help children to learn to fish and get them started is something that in my lifetime I have never seen before. From the 3-5 year old to the young teens. Stacy has the time, patience, understand of children, and love of fishing that makes him a great teacher.
If you ever need a fishing guide, TWIGGS…Stacy is your man. If you live in Florida, or are coming for a visit, pick up the phone and call Stacy. People all have their niches and Stacy’s is to help others with their dreams or passions. You won’t be sorry that you called THE TWIGGS.
You will not find a better guide for your fishing day….remember the song…YOU GOT A FRIEND….THE TWIGGS.
Steve Miller, Kissimmee, Florida
Stacy Twiggs – Always smiling. The boy is just blessed. I’m blessed as well to be able to call him my friend and to have shared time on the water with him. I promise you this, you will never get bored fishing with this guy. He is 100% pure Texas character. If you are lucky enough to hear some of his stories, he will inspire you.
I’ve never met a more passionate man in my life. If he believes in it, he dives right in, he lives it. Stacy dedicated his life to the youth of the bass fishing world, moved to Florida, did great things and touched many young fishermen’s lives, including my daughter’s. Now the page has turned. He is dedicated and driven to be the best he can be at everything.
When you share time with him, and you will be with a teacher, a thinker, a conservationist and someone with a pure love of fishing and the outdoors. He has an uncanny knack of making the right move at the right time, he calls it luck, I call it skill. Stacy takes each trip seriously and as a challenge to “one up” the wary ol’ bucketmouths. I highly recommend spending a day on the water with Stacy. I personally can’t wait for my next opportunity.
Gary “G Money” Smith, Former Texas B.A.S.S. Federation Youth Director, Houston, Texas
Having known Stacy Twiggs for the better part of the last eight years, I have been continuously impressed by his dedication to both recreational fishing and the education of young people. His strong communication skills, teaching ability and patience make him a great partner for both young anglers and seasoned veterans alike. Having spent more than a decade on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail and even longer as a member of the B.A.S.S. Federation Nation he is always “in the know” on the latest tackle and techniques being used by the top pros in the sport. Most importantly, minutes after you meet and interact with Stacy you’ll know you have more than a typical fishing guide, you have a friend for life.
Chris Bowes, Clermont, FL
I have known Stacy for over 15 years and am very familiar with his contributions to our industry. His leadership with the B.A.S.S. Youth Program and the successes he garnered speak volumes about my friend. I have been fortune to fish with Stacy while he has been at my resorts in Mexico. He is an awesome fisherman, very knowledgeable with a great reputation. I know many of my fishing industry friends have had the opportunity to fish with Stacy on his home turf and they all speak highly of his guiding ability and their overall fishing experience he proffers.
I know, first hand, that everything that Stacy does in life is first class. He is a consummate professional in everything that he does and it is no surprise to me he is one of the most sought guides in Florida. I unconditionally recommend Stacy in any endeavor he would pursue because a man of character, integrity and talent will always deliver.

Stacy Twiggs, quite simply put, is the future of fishing. With unwavering passion Stacy has dedicated himself to helping kids get involved in fishing, educating them about all the benefits that not only they receive, but also how they can help in conservation, one fish at a time. I first met him through work, and quickly realized his unparalleled integrity and true greatness as a person and thus throughout the years our working relationship has turned in to a good friendship as. His insight into the outdoors and the impact each and every one of us has on our surroundings resonates in all he does. I count the days to my Toho Life adventure and with that introducing my family to the wonders, beauty and all the inside knowledge that come with Captain Twiggs.
Josie Cline, Integrated Marketing Manager, Bonnier Corp., Milwaukee, WI.
My family was introduced to Stacy Twiggs in 2004 when our son, Bradley Roy won the Junior Bassmaster World Championship on Lake Norman. Stacy is a man of his word and believes the “golden rule” of treating people the way he would want to be treated. Over the years we have become good friends and worked together on many projects, including improving the youth programs that lead to helping introduce young people to the sport of fishing. My family grew to love him and what he stands for. When my mother was fighting her battle with cancer, Stacy would always call or drop an e-mail to ask about her as he kept her on his prayer list. He did this not because he had to, but because he cared.
He has played a major part in my son’s life as a Bassmaster Elite Pro. He has always been there to offer advice and to introduce Bradley to instrumental people within the fishing industry. Stacy has a passion for introducing people to the outdoors and especially fishing. He is a friend indeed. If we ever needed him, we know that he is just a phone call away.
If you get the chance, you should get to know Stacy.
